Finished in striking and rare Peru Red with black leather upholstery, this 1974 Porsche 911 S 2.7i Coupe is a standout classic. Originally delivered with Beige/Tan leatherette interior, it was factory optioned with Tinted Glass (463) and a Sunroof (650). Believed to be one of only 19 Sportomatic 2.7i Coupes sold new in 1974, this is a rare and desirable example of Porsche’s iconic 911.

 

The current owner purchased the car locally in 2012. It comes with an extensive history file, including parts receipts and service records dating back to 2004. In 2014, the original 2.7L engine was replaced with a later-model 3.2L Porsche Carrera fuel-injected engine, providing enhanced power and improved drivability. At the same time, the 5-speed manual gearbox (915) was fully rebuilt which had already replaced the original Sportomatic gearbox.

Importantly, the original numbers-matching 2.7L engine (recently verified by Porsche Cars Australia) is included in the sale, offering a valuable option for purists who may wish to restore the car to its original specifications.

The car has recently undergone a minor service and the staggered 16” Fuchs alloy wheels have been re-painted. The Peru Red exterior paint has recently been polished and touched up, though it still contains several imperfections, which is reflected in the asking price.
